When the first Porsche was brought to Australia by the Hamilton's in 1952, they would not know what success the Porsche brand would bring the family over the next 30 years. The 356 was a runaway success all over the world.
This example was delivered new into Melbourne in 1956 and was one of only 5 356 coupes delivered with a sunroof in that year. The car was originally ivory with green interior. When acquired by Porsche Classics in 2001, the car was in need of restoration, and over the next 6 years the car went to all our best contractors to return the car to its former glory. Stewart was not a fan of the ivory paint scheme, and instead opted for a special silver colour that was taken from Mercedes Benz. This colour has a green hue, that accentuates and captures the green interior to provide a breathtaking combination between paint and interior. Finished with Marshal driving lights, rudge wheels, and rear window blind, this sunroof A is truly beautiful.
