1947 Mercury Custom Sedan - Street Rod For Sale (Click Here)

Description:

Motoexotica is offering another fantastic Mercury. This 1947 Mercury Four Door Sedan is a rust free beauty that has been stripped down to bare metal during it’s complete restoration. There are no patch panels in this car! In the last 2 years alone, the previous owner has put over 5,000 trouble free miles on the car! Since completed, the car has had over 19,000 miles put on it and by looking at it, you could never tell. The car looks as good today as it did 19,000 miles ago. With a 283 V8 under the hood and a Nova rear end with highway gears, the car is a joy to drive on cruises and won’t have to stop at every gas station along the way!

The paint on the car is in excellent condition and shows no major dings, scratches or imperfections. Besides a few small rock chips the paint on the car is in great condition. Both front and rear bumpers look great and have been freshly chromed. The steel, louvered hood is a great touch to this classic Merc. The headlights, antenna and rear license plate have all been frenched for that classic hot rod look. All windows have been given a light tint to keep the car looking and feeling cool all year round. All door shut tight and have good gaps.

The interior has just been reupholstered less then 6 months ago in a burgundy velour which looks great with the grey exterior and dash. The car will comfortably seat 5 so you can take your friends or family to the next cruise night in style. All the carpet is in great condition and there is a battery shut off installed on the passenger side floor board for easy access. The steering wheel is leather wrapped and tilt. Gauges are from VDO and read Amp’s, temperature, speedometer and oil pressure. All of which work with no problems except for the gas gauge which reads ¼ tank being empty. There has been an AM/FM CD radio installed in the glove box which works with no problems and is connected to a functional power antenna.

Under the hood there is a 283 Cu In V8 connected to a 350 Turbo Transmission. Going back to a Nova rear end, the car is a joy to drive on the highway and will cruise comfortably at 65 mph all day long while staying cool. The motor has been dressed up with Edelbrock add on’s as well as a chrome alternator and Edelbrock intake. The car does not have power steering or brakes but does brake and steer very easy. There has been a stainless dual exhaust system installed which makes the car sound great.

This is a solid Mercury top to bottom that is a joy to drive and is sure to be a blast for the entire family. The current mileage shows 19,432 and is the actual mileage since the complete, frame off restoration on the car. VIN number is 799A1682662 and is stamped in to the frame rail under the hood. The car is being sold on a clean Texas title
