1954 Alvis TC21/100 Grey Lady - Collector Car For Sale (Click Here)

Description:

This stunning Grey Lady was first registered to Alvis Limited of Holyhead Road, Coventry on 8th November 1954, when list price was £1,821. According to the Alvis Club, this car is one of approximately 750 models of this type built between October 1953 and December 1955, 650 of which were of the saloon type.

The Alvis comes with a comprehensive history including original 'buff' logbook, MOT certificates dating back to 1981, details and photographic record of a full chassis up rebuild costing over £8500 in 1983 and invoices for work carried out since 2005 totalling over £17,000 for yet another restoration. From 1983 to 2005 the TC21 remained with the same owner who had the car rebuilt near Bristol soon into his long term ownership. Since this initial restoration, the Alvis has covered less than 10,000 miles and under 3,000 miles since the more recent restoration work.

Today the vehicle is beautifully presented as expected with such recent expenditure. The Alvis is a true delight on the road and performs exceptionally well. Paint and chrome are of a lovely standard and the body is remarkably good. The leather upholstery has aged well and gives the car a lovely original feel. This fine example has a feel of true quality and class.

Description:

This stunning Suede Grey Vauxhall Victor FB is a car we know well having owned it twice in recent years. The car was first registered on 9th September 1964, supplied new through Vauxhall dealers of York, Leedhams. The first owner kept the car for seventeen years and part exchanged the car back with Leedhams of York. For several years, Leedhams kept the car as a showroom exhibit due it's outstanding original condition.

The condition of the upholstery is beautiful and the body and paintwork are of a very good standard. The engine bay is beautifully presented and clean, as is the boot. There have been four ownersof this car: Originally purchased 6/30/56 by Thorndyke Roe at Mark Turban, Inc. CA, for $3,112.59. Roe was allegedly ill for the next + - 20 years and drove very little. The car was then owned by Lee Horn, CA supposedly his nephew. The third owner was Edgar B. See, CA who sold the car to us 7/13/2000 at 89K miles for our daughter’s High School curser. This car was rated #2 on a scale of 5 (#1 being the highest) by CA Classic Car Center 6/97 for Lee Horn. We have the original '56 sales document, owners manual, shop manual, etc.

OME options include; the T-BIRD 292 Y block engine, Auto Trans., Backup Lights, Lifeguard Safety Package (Seat belts, padded dash (foam has deteriorated), swivel rear view mirror, etc.), Radio, Heater, Tinted Windows, Power Brakes, and Side View Mirror. The engine was rebuilt at 89,283 miles to eliminate the need to add lead substitute to the gas. The engine was removed and the engine compartment painted with Imron paint 4/2007. The transmission was rebuilt 1/2002 @ 80,818 miles. A complete brake job; wheel cylinders, brake lines, shoes, wheel bearings and seals was done 11/2005 @ 95,454 miles, the master cylinder was replaced 3/2004. Air conditioning was installed 8/2007 and the electrical system was upgraded to an alternator. If AC is not desired, it can be removed and the generator reinstalled. The front end, steering linkage, ball joints, control arm bushings, etc., was completely rebuilt 8/2002. New battery was installed 8/2007. Edgar B. See had the front seat reupholstered in the original cloth fabrics and had a custom vinyl cover made to protect the seat. Also, comes with a never installed shoulder harness (3 point seat belt kit) and a trunk full of inventoried spare body trim and mechanical parts (Call me).

I have maintained a complete categorical maintenance and repair log from 7/2000 to date. All receipts for parts and repairs are on file. I have nearly every classic Ford parts catalogue from around the country. Please inspect and drive this car, or have someone inspect and drive this very nice car on your behalf. This Fairlane is a great driver and is the perfect candidate for a frame up restoration.

The car has been featured on the cover of Hot Rod magazine as well as shown at many show's including SEMA and the All Mopar Show in Van Nuys where is picked up first place awards for best E-Body and Editors choice. We have an appraisal in hand that puts this car at an appraised value of $295,000. The car is being sold by the original owner who the car was made for on the show. This will be the first time it has traded hands to the regret of the owner. This is a true, one family owned car that has been in California its entire life.

As you can see in the photos, the car started life as a Green Go car and when repainted, they retained that color on the top half of the car. It has though, been given that Chip Foose touch that he is so famous for. With custom touches to break up the two tone metallic green and black paint, the paint job on the car is nearly perfect. There are many of these TV car’s that they slap on a few coats of paint to make it look good for TV but when you see them in person look horrible. This is NOT one of those cars. The paint is done to show quality standards and has a brilliant shine and luster. The car only shows a bit over 600 miles since completion and looks as good now as it did when the Overhaulin crew finished it in 2004. Both front and rear chrome bumpers look great and have no blemishes. The wheels are one off customs by Chip Foose that resemble the original style wheels that came on the car. They are wrapped with BF Goodrich radials.

Inside, the crew stayed with the original style for the most part. The most obvious change is to the seats. They are brand new buckets that have been wrapped leather and match the exterior color scheme. The carpet, dash, door panels and headliner are all new and in great condition. There has been a full new set of Auto Gauge gauges installed that all work with no problems and look great. Kicker Car Audio was a huge part of this car. The supplied a monster SX series 1250.1 amp to power the two Kicker Solo Barick L7 subs in the trunk and a SX series 700.4 to power the 3 way, 6x9’s on the rear parcel tray. All of this was done with custom amp racks in the trunk that sit on either side of the dual subs. Powered by a Clarion head unit, the stereo truly sounds as good as the car looks.

Under the hood, the car is powered by a new 440 Cu In V8 connected to a 727 transmission that has been built to handle the power from the motor. Once the show was completed, the car was taken to Icon Engineering in Southern California for a motor swap after the OK was given by Chip Foose as long as the appearance was kept the same. This necessitated painted the engine silver, using Mopar Performance valve covers and March pulleys and brackets. The 727 automatic transmission was completely rebuilt to handle the new power the 440 was going to deliver. There has been an A/C system installed after the show was aired as well. There is currently no heater lines under the hood.

The underside of the car is solid as expected with being out in California its entire life. This is an original blue plate car with the stickers to show on the plate. There has been a new Magnaflow stainless steel exhaust system installed with X pipe which makes this car sound great. The option list on the car is very extensive and includes some of the best names in the business like Baer Brakes, Kicker Audio, Edelbrock, Holley Carbs, BeCool radiator, Magnaflow Exhaust and MSD electronics just to name a few. The car currently shows only 800 miles and shows by taking one glance at it.

1940 GMC Pickup - Classic Truck For Sale (Click Here)

Description:

In 1901, Max Grabowsky established a company called the "Rapid Motor Vehicle Company", which developed some of the earliest commercial trucks ever designed. In 1909, the company was purchased by General Motors to form the basis for the General Motors Truck Company, from which GMC Truck was derived.

Another independent manufacturer purchased by GM that same year was Reliance Motor Car Company. Rapid & Reliance were merged in 1911, and in 1912 the marque "GMC Truck" was first shown at the New York International Auto Show. Some 22,000 trucks were produced that year, though GMC's contribution to that total was a mere 372 units.

In 1936 GMC substantially increased its number of dealerships with the addition of well chosen sales outlets in every area they were in. For the first time GMC brought out a complete line of light duty trucks to supply the increasing demand for equipment in their capacity range.

This particular truck that you see here is a 1940 GMC Series 150 ¾ ton pick up truck. This is a fully restored truck that needs nothing to enjoy on the weekends or just around your favorite piece of property. The original 228 Cu In six cylinder has been replaced with an updated 235 Cu In six cylinder that runs great and gives you more power then the stock engine and it runs great. This truck has spent it’s entire life in the dry state of California and was brought to Illinois in 2003.

The paint on the truck is in great condition with no major imperfections to be found. There are a few scuffs to the top of the fenders from the hood coming down on it but these are not major. There are also some scratches to the front of the sun shade that were caused from the hood. Both front and rear bumpers are in good shape with no damage or major pitting showing to either. The front grill looks great and has a brilliant shine to it. The wood bed is newer and shows no rot.

Inside, the seat has been reupholstered and looks very good with no major wear. There has been an updated stereo installed that works with no problems. The door panels and dash have both been painted to match the exterior of the truck. The steering wheel is solid with no cracking. There has been an aftermarket temperature gauge installed under the dash. Lights, blinkers and horn all work with no problems.

Under the hood, the original 228 Cu In 6 cylinder has been replaced with a newer, 235 Cu In 6 cylinder. This is connected to a 4 speed manual transmission that shifts with no problems. The truck starts right up with a push of the pedal and goes down the road with no problems. I wouldn’t suggest taking cross country trips in the truck, but for around town, it’s a ton of fun. A good cruising speed for the truck is around 50 mph.

The under side is very solid with no rot that we have seen. The bed is solid and has been freshly refinished and sealed. This truck is titled as a 1945 GMC with a VIN number on the firewall of B22865981 which does match the title. This truck is a 1940 Model though and has a VIN number on the frame of AC1526057 which is correct for this period and truck. Titling will not be an issue as the title does match the VIN tag on the firewall.
