1975 Bricklin SV-1 - Collector Car For Sale

Description:

Brain child of Malcom Bricklin and designed by Herb Grasse, the Bricklin SV-1 short for Safety Vehicle 1, hit the US market in 1974 but enjoyed only a very short production span due to inadequate funding and manufacturing problems. Designed to be an economical sports car or an alternative to the Corvette, the Bricklin SV-1 was totally unique at the time with powered gull wing doors, 5 mph bumpers and purposeful lack of cigarette lighter and ash tray. Powered at first by an AMC 360 and later by the tried and true Ford 351 Windsor V-8, the SV-1 posted some respectable performance figures for the time and today remains one of the most unique automotive experiments of all time. It is believed that fewer than 1,120 Bricklins still exist! Finished in classic white over very nice original brown/tan interior, this handsome 1975 Bricklin SV-1 is a very solid, highly original example boasting just over 11,500 original miles! Powered by a 351 Ford V-8 and nicely equipped with power steering, power disc brakes, A/C, euro gauges, bucket seats, center console, Ford automatic transmission, original finned aluminum wheels, air powered gull wing door system, original AM/FM radio, and more, this car also sports its original and very straight fiberglass body, mostly original paint, strong running unmodified Ford 351 V8, new hand made carpet kit, original seats, gauges, dash, and door panels. With only about 1,000 surviving examples of this unique vehicle in existence, this handsome example is a very rare opportunity to acquire such an uncommon piece of automotive history… one can be assured that at almost any car event, you will stand out in the crowd with this Bricklin! This vehicle has been completely serviced and recently driven over 100 miles and is in excellent operating order, drive anywhere with confidence! Odometer currently reads 11,516 miles and according to previous owner’s statement, overall presentation of car, and drive characteristics is believed to be original mileage, however, due to age of vehicle, we can not guarantee an actual mileage claim.

1956 Mercury Montclair - Classic Car For Sale

Description:

This extremely rare and pristine Mercury Montclair convertible rolled off the line at Ford's Los Angeles assembly plant in 1956. It is one of just a few remaining examples of the 7,762 built that year, with an original selling price of around $2,900--just $135 more than the two-door hardtop model!, This car spent the first half of its life in Southern California. In 1979, a new owner took the car to Canada with aspirations to someday restore it, but his dream never came true. Some years later the car was acquired by an automobile enthusiast who painstakingly perofrmed a meticulous, frame-off restoration over a two-year period beginning in 2000. The only presence of any rust was two small pinholes in the left rear floorboard., Today, after reclaiming its U.S. citzenship and having every nut and bolt beautifully restored, this rolling piece of 1950s American history has proudly traveled barely 3,000 miles. Its glistening chrome and shiny red and white exterior with matching two-tone interior turn the heads of both young and old. Jump behind the wheel, lower the top, feel the wind in your face, flip on the Town & Country radio--somehow you won't be satisfied until this trophy-winning beauty belongs to you!, Selling for client. Located in Idaho.

1967 Jaguar 340 with MK II Upgrades - Collector Car For Sale

Description:

Stunning example of a 1967 ( registered as a 1968 ) – Jaguar 340 with all the factory MK2 upgrades - full leather interior with all wood trim, and fog lights. 4Spd & O.D. Complete restoration ( over $50,000 in receipts ). It has less than 4000 miles since restoration. One of the best looking 340's in the country. The paint is superb - not a scratch or chip on the whole body! Absolutely rust-free. The interior is excellent – Headliner is perfect. The previous owner ( an active member of the JCNA, and an avid Jaguar enthusiast) had a complete professional restoration done from about 2001 – 2003. I have every single receipt he carefully documented in 2 large notebooks. I also have a full notebook with correspondences between the original owner and the previous owner discussing it’s history. I’ve owned it for 3 years. Of course it has always been garage kept and never driven in the rain.

Last year I had the transmission professionally rebuilt, with new everything including clutch, syncros, bearings, mounts etc. Runs a drives very nice – can cruise at 70 mph plus - smooth - no vibrations. Runs and drives as good as it looks. The sale includes a full set of cocoa mats, a genuine green service manual, a wire-wheel knock off tool, and a painted set of Coombs spats.

All gauges, switches, and lights work fine. Original AM/FM radio does not work. And the heat was never hooked up, as the car has never been driven in cold weather. There were only 535 Left-hand drive models ever made of these. This one of the finest.

1954 Kaiser Kaiser-Darrin - Classic Car For Sale

Description:

When searching for a unique car it is important to determine how many you have seen. Well can you recall the last Kaiser that pulled in to your local car show? I sure can't! This gem is unique from the front grill to the side doors. Camaros and Chevelles always tend to blend together, but throw a Kaiser in the middle and everyone will stop to ask some questions. Most of which being what is it? With only 435 built, the 1954 Kaiser Darrin is a very rare car. This car is #281 of only 179 documented to still exist. It was only manufactured for a limited number of years by Willys, a company which too had a short existence. This bright red roadster is exactly what many people picture when thinking of a sports car. With the black top down and the radio blasting this Kaiser is perfect for cruising the town. The 161 cubic inch six cylinder may not sound like much but when put into this light weight hotrod produces plenty of power. The 4 speed manual transmission shifts great and will give you full control of your little sportscar. But wait! One of the best selling points of this ride is in the fact that it is a part of history that is being lost over time. This rare roadster is sky rocketing in value and will never stop. Camaro Super Sports and Shelby Mustangs are rare, but cannot be compared to this! These have consistently sold at auction for over $100,000.

1966 Ford Bronco U13 Roadster - Classic Truck For Sale

Description:

Talk about an obsession! We all have our own pet projects cars that we get all crazy about and well the cost-to-benefit ratio gets tossed out the window once we''re knee-deep in it. You end up with cars like the 1969 COPO Camaro on our showroom floor that cost $200000+ to build but has a sticker of $89900 or this absolutely jaw-dropping 1966 Ford Bronco Roadster which is unquestionably the nicest one in the world. Go ahead ask around.I''ll wait. Seriously this Bronco has been exhaustively researched meticulously restored and filled with the world''s greatest collection of NOS Bronco parts making it so off-the-charts spectacular that there''s just no way it will ever be topped again. Hell I bet the parts don''t even exist anymore to build another one like this-it uses what might be the very last NOS floor mat extant (we''ll talk more about that in a little bit) and perhaps the last two NOS hubcaps available anywhere. Wow. And talk about rare! The first generation of the early Bronco was built from 1966-1977 with a total of 225585 produced. U13 Roadsters like this one were only built in ''66 ''67 and ''68 with a total of only 5000 built over that 3-year production run. According to Bronco experts there are probably less than 150 in existence today and only perhaps only 10 or so restored to original condition. This truck is so rare that I''d never even heard of such a vehicle and figured that a Bronco without doors or a roof would have been some aftermarket custom job or something. Guess again-this truck is the real deal 100% as-built by Ford Motor Company. This truck was discovered in Texas where it had lived its entire life. When it was found it was a battered and beaten vehicle that had been modified into an off-road hunting buggy used to ferry hunters into the wilderness (which is cool because going where other vehicles can''t follow is exactly what these early SUVs were designed to do). The owner dragged it home and embarked on an exhaustive 2000+ hour restoration that evolved into an obsessive search for rare NOS Bronco parts to complete it. The owner figures he probably spent another 1000 or so hours just chasing parts and parts vehicles to complete this truck. So how nice is it? Incredible. Astounding. Gorgeous. Shall I go on? There''s no doubt in my mind that this is the nicest Bronco Roadster in the world and quite possibly the nicest early Bronco of any kind in the world. I don''t like to use words like perfect and flawless in my descriptions because there''s always some Internet goofball who will argue semantics with you but I''m going to use both words in the case of this Bronco. It IS perfect. It IS flawless. The exterior is the original Caribbean Turquoise repainted in a 2-stage base/clear paint for a spectacular shine. On the one hand it really is beautiful but on the other it pretty much means this truck''s off-roading days are 100% over. No matter because this is a truck that will win every single show it attends no questions asked. The body having spent its life in Texas was 99% rust-free with only a few patches that I only know about because the owner told me-they''re otherwise invisible. The front fenders and hood are new reproduction items replaced simply because the originals were too bashed and battered to repair and the repro stuff is exact in every way-why not use it? The rest of the body is 100% original Henry steel restored to a better-than-new standard. Every single nook and cranny was smoothed and sanded before the paint was sprayed then everything was block sanded for a flawless final finish. Paint quality in the ''60s was nowhere near as good as it is today and trucks often got haphazard paint application at best from the factory so seeing this truck in its current condition would probably make some of those factory workers who original built it stare in awe. The trim is all NOS or original stuff restored to new condition-these trucks are so rare that there are virtually no reproduction pieces being made for them. The owner reports buying entire parts trucks just to get specific pieces-talk about dedication to perfection! Lights lenses even the fold-down windshield are all like new and show very very well. Mechanically this numbers-matching Bronco features the 170 cubic-inch inline six that powered all early Broncos restored to factory specifications. While its 105 horsepower and 158 pounds of torque seem modest today remember that this is an extremely lightweight vehicle with 4.10 gears so performance is lively under all conditions. It was designed to happily crawl over rocks and slog through marshes so brute horsepower isn''t necessary when you have the flexibility of a 2-speed transfer case. The engine is highly detailed in every single way looking factory fresh from the oil bath air cleaner (which was only on the very early Broncos) to the new single exhaust system. The engine is corporate Ford Blue with NOS hoses clamps and authentic NOS plug wires. The exhaust manifold looks like it has been stored in the desert or something-that''s the nicest cast iron casting I''ve ever seen. The starter and alternator have been rebuilt and feature correct cadmium plating. Heck even the belts are authentic and correctly-coded pieces. You''ll also note the NOS FoMoCo washer fluid bag on the driver''s side inner fender and the reproduction Autolite sta-ful battery on the passenger''s side (a show-only NOS battery that has never been filled with acid is also included with the truck). It''s incredibly nice in there and 100% authentic. The engine is backed by a 3-speed manual transmission and that aforementioned 2-speed transfer case both of which were rebuilt at the time of restoration. The front and rear axles feature 4.10 and 4.11 gears respectively which is how 4x4s are supposed to be set up. The Bronco''s innovative coil spring front suspension which delivered a much more civilized ride than the leaf-sprung Jeeps and other early 4x4s has been fully detailed with the correct decals and markings throughout. A new exhaust system gives the lively six cylinder engine the right tone while a new gas tank hangs underneath. This Bronco also carries the optional 12-gallon auxiliary gas tank but it is not hooked up since this is a show truck (it can easily be connected and all the correct fittings and hoses are present). This auxiliary tank is authentic to the truck. Some may say that the dual tanks were not introduced until the 289 V8 was available in late ''66 but they are simply misinformed. Early factory literature clearly shows dual tanks under a six-cylinder Bronco (it''s important to note that the literature was printed prior to the truck''s debut in ''65). Most importantly the original dual tanks were found in this truck before it was restored and they were definitely put there on the assembly line. Since we originally featured this amazing Bronco two more original dual tank survivor U13 Roadsters have popped up one in Arizona and one in New Mexico. If you were the recipient of bogus conventional knowledge prior to now consider yourself enlightened! The brakes have been fully rebuilt including the original single master cylinder and all new lines have been installed. The shocks are NOS units as are the front coil springs. The original 15-inch steel wheels have been refinished and are shod with 7.00-15 DEESTONE tires that still have the nubs on the tread-this truck has literally 0 miles since it was completed. The interior is equally spectacular. The silver upholstery was standard equipment and unique to 1966 Brocos and in the roadster a back seat was installed and the spare tire moved to the rear tailgate. The upholstery matches the original stuff exactly. That''s a NOS steering wheel NOS rear armrests (in black which is incredibly rare) and all the other parts are either perfect originals or restored pieces. The 3-on-the-tree shifter is unique to the early Broncos and it slides effortlessly through its gears while the T-handle on the floor controls the transfer case. Speaking of the floor shifter and NOS parts you''ll note that the bezel for that 1-of-a-kind NOS shift boot has not been screwed to the floor. The restorer just couldn''t bear to punch holes in that perfect NOS floor mat which was probably the last one in the entire universe. Acquired from a fellow Bronco hobbyist who was saving it for his own project he apparently stored it for years flat and in a dark area to protect it from UV damage. The only other NOS floor mat available was still in its box and was folded in quarters-it would probably have cracked when removed from the package. This floor mat was conditioned every few months to keep it from drying out and eventually the restorer was able to acquire it for more than $1000 when that other hobbyist''s project didn''t happen. Yes this truck has a $1000 floor mat which is why there are no holes punched in it. Have I said Wow! too often yet? This Bronco is also equipped with virtually every option Ford offered on the Bronco including chrome horn ring heater and defroster manual antenna and AM radio protective dash speaker grille cover bucket seats rear bench seat ICC lamp flashers padded black dash pad sun visors front and rear chrome bumpers bright metal taillight bezels skid plates under the fuel tank and transfer case inside tailgate mounted spare tire rocker panel racing stripes 15-inch wheel covers auxiliary 12-gallon fuel tank and an ultra-rare 6-blade cooling fan (seen only on Houston DSO-coded Broncos). Documentation includes a CD-ROM with a video and dozens of restoration photos documenting the entire build start to finish. There are also original 1966 Bronco brochures Ford truck brochures the May 1967 issue of Popular Mechanics issue featuring the new Bronco a copy of the February 2010 issue of Auto/Truck Round-Up Monthly with a feature story on this Bronco a copy of the September 1965 issue of Ford Times featuring the Bronco a 1966 Ford Bronco Preliminary Shop Manual plus a detailed inspection report. There''s also a new 2010 calendar where this truck is the September 2010 feature vehicle. This Bronco is without any qualifications or disclaimers a true #1 vehicle. That''s incredibly difficult to achieve and is doubly difficult on a rare piece like this where virtually no reproduction parts are available. This truck is probably the most exhaustively researched and documented early Bronco Roadster in the world and if you need the very best there really is only one. You''ll never see another one at a show and the quality of this restoration virtually guarantees a trophy at any show you want to attend from the Ford Nationals to the giant AACA meet in Hershey PA each fall. There are no excuses no disclaimers no asterisks with this truck-it is to use a word I hate to utter when describing any vehicle flawless.

1953 Mercury Monterey Custom 350/350 - Hot Rod For Sale

Description:

The coolest customs are the ones where you can''t quite tell what was modified and what remains untouched. This 1953 Mercury is an excellent example especially since the ''53 Mercurys were already pretty cool-looking cars with a lot of interesting features that were just waiting for a customizer to come along and tweak them. Just finished a few weeks ago this super clean Mercury coupe was built to drive and show not to sit in some collection gathering dust. A lot of traditional tricks have been employed explained by terms like frenched and molded and nosed and decked. The original Mercury shape is still there and 90% of the original trim too leaving anyone but a real expert wondering how much is factory styling and how much is the customizer''s art-I like that. The body and paint are excellent worthy of a custom like this. Obviously the headlights have been frenched into the fenders and out back a power antenna pokes up through its own hole carved into the rear deck for a traditional custom touch. The roof is at the original height no chopping here and the flanks are sculpted exactly the way Mercury stylists wanted them in 1953. Check out the way the rear fenders bulge subtly! The body panels line up nicely and gaps are even all hallmarks of the hot rodder''s art. The paint is a dark purple that looks black at night but really comes alive in the daylight and it will remain timeless since it isn''t adorned with any cool for the moment graphics that will look dated in a few years-this is a custom you can enjoy for decades without feeling like you''re wearing bell bottoms and a headband. The paint was expertly applied and rubbed out to a glossy finish that is bereft of any orange peel and I''m guessing that it is mostly Henry steel underneath since there are no replacement or patch panels available for these cars-original stuff is all there is. Up front it looks awfully unique but if you compare this car to a stock ''53 Merc you''ll see that the only changes are that the teeth and bullets were removed from the grille and the lower half of the front bumper was painted body color instead of chromed. The hood scoop lost its chrome trim and was made functional feeding cool air into the engine compartment but otherwise matches the factory look. The trim on the sides was also removed and the mounting holes filled but I like the scalloped stainless trim that was retained on the C-pillar as well as the stainless that runs along the window sills. Out back yes that''s the original rear bumper and taillights which look like they''ve been modified but have merely been restored to original condition. The trick to a great custom is knowing what to remove and what to keep and the builders on this car chose well. Powering this purple cruiser is a proven 350 cubic inch FB385 GM crate motor generating 435 horsepower. It''s topped by an Edelbrock 800 CFM 4-barrel carburetor and lights the fires using a GM HEI distributor. The iron block was bathed in matching purple paint while the aluminum heads and intake proudly remain raw aluminum to show them off. Polished valve covers and a ball-milled aluminum air cleaner provide some dress-up as do the ceramic coated headers. Speaking of purple paint it was liberally applied to many of the underhood components beyond the engine block including the radiator tanks electric cooling fan alternator and even the battery! The result is a clean functional powerful engine that looks as good as it runs. Backing up the engine is a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission feeding a 9-inch Ford rear with 3.50 gears for easy cruising and great acceleration. The suspension is by Air Ride and features a Fatman Fabrications front subframe and tubular A-arms in front and a 4-link out back (each corner is individually controlled by switches under the dash). Braking is compliments of late model discs up front and drums out back for a reliable easy-to-service package. The frame and floors have been finished to near show levels but you won''t be afraid to drive this car which is the builder''s intent. Drive it enjoy it shine it up if you want but don''t be afraid to hammer down the road when the urge grips you. The interior is a spectacular mixture of custom and original and again the original stuff is so cool you can''t quite tell where the customizer worked his magic. The dash pod and gauges are believe it or not 100% factory. The only addition is an AutoMeter tach in its own purple-painted pod to the left of the original speedometer cluster. The switch gear has been upgraded with billet pieces and the original radio lives in the dashboard for show. The glove box has been welded up and smoothed but you would never know it and the original clock still ticks in the dash. Those two gauges and four switches under the dash are the controls for the air suspension and if you look closely you''ll see that each gauge has two needles one for each side of the car. The stereo is mounted in the trunk and is operated via a remote that uses an infrared repeater attached to the air suspension gauge cluster. How cool is that? The seats and door panels are original reupholstered in gray leather and vinyl for a traditional look and modern comfort. The original window cranks and handles are gone replaced by billet pieces but the rest of the original trim is still present. The steering wheel is a matching leather-wrapped LeCarra piece and a stand-alone Lokar shifter handles gear selections. The cut pile carpet is well installed and overhead the headliner is taut and blemish-free.And speaking of the trunk it has been completely upholstered to match the interior with carpet on the sides and vinyl over the center section which is removable to access the fuel cell. Access panels put the entertainment system and Air Ride system within easy reach. Receipts? We got ''em just like we do with all the best custom rods we get at Best of Show. We also have construction photos so you can see how this beautiful car came together. The crate motor itself comes with a thick folder full of helpful information for service modification and operation. I really like this car-deceptively simple with well-chosen and expertly applied modifications to take it in a fresh direction. It''s rock-solid reliable with a proven powertrain and has been done to a very high standard that will get attention from judges and fans alike. It''s nice but not so nice you''re afraid to drive it and has been built and equipped for the road. Pop in a few CDs grab your coolest shades and climb behind the wheel with your arm hanging out the window just like the old school guys used to do it. Just be prepared for all the people swerving closer to get a better look at your killer car. For sheer cool points this Merc is hard to beat.

1969 Lincoln Continental 460 V8 - Classic Car For Sale

Description:

For the past few months Best of Show has been expanding our collection of ''60s muscle luxury specializing in Cadillacs and Lincolns from an era where they were the ONLY way to travel if you were a high roller. Sinatra had a 4-door Continental like this one and used it to cruise through Vegas and Hollywood. Today they are great drivers that still carry a ton of cachet and are quickly gaining momentum among collectors as worthwhile investments. If triple black is just too formal for you take a good long look at this 29000 original mile 2-owner Arizona Continental in Turquoise over a white leather interior. It''s tight clean well-sorted and ready to cruise the strip today. If Sinatra''s Continental was triple black I bet Sammy Davis Jr. had one exactly like this. Yes it has been repainted recently. Having lived the first 39 years of its life in Arizona the sun eventually took its toll on the admittedly primitive paint technology Lincoln used in ''69. Today it has a fresh coat of 2-stage urethane that will stand up to anything Mother Nature can throw at it and looks about 10 times better doing it. Glossy deep with just a hint of metallic it''s an eye-catching hue that makes this big car look trim and fit. I''m not seeing any signs of major surgery on any of the original body panels and as an Arizona car you know rust just isn''t a factor. Trim and other bright pieces are excellent and the bumper guards have just returned from the chrome shop where they were refinished like new to match the excellent original bumpers. Those long wide taillights are in excellent condition as are the unique reverse lights above each bumper end and the unique Continental trim along the tops of the fenders is in beautiful shape. The white vinyl top is new and positively sparkles in the sunlight the perfect complement to the turquoise paint. Given the overall condition I have to say that living out west definitely helped preserve this gorgeous car. Mechanically this is a 29000 mile car low enough to be well-preserved but enough exercise to keep it healthy. I know a lot of guys get excited about 40-year-old cars with 250 miles but cars like that often need substantial mechanical reconditioning to put them back into service. Not so with cars with what I call realistically low mileage (as opposed to ''crazy'' low mileage). Cars like this Lincoln have been well maintained driven regularly but not often and are usually someone''s fair weather toy. That means that the mechanicals stay in tip-top condition and highly original throughout. Our own VP of Consignments GK Kerr who is also our resident expert on these cars and who has extensive experience owning and driving 4-door Continentals reports that this turquoise Connie is the tightest quietest most solid one he''s ever driven and I believe him (he''s also honest to a fault so if it didn''t drive perfectly he wouldn''t have said as much). The engine bay is original and clean and shows that it has been maintained since day one. Tip that big hood forward and you''ll find a 460 cubic inch big block Ford V8 nestled between the fenders still radiant in its original Ford Blue paint and Powered by Ford valve covers. The air cleaner decal is still clinging to the lid for all it''s worth and even the emission control decals are still in place. Standard service items have obviously been replaced which means that this car is 100% road worthy and ready to travel cross country. Easy western living means that all the fittings are unblemished there''s no corrosion on the connectors and wires and even the firewall is incredibly clean. Turn the key and it fires up breathing through what appears to be its original dual exhaust system emitting a muscular exhaust note that is completely unobtrusive on the road but doesn''t let you forget that there are 365 horses under the hood. The chassis is like the engine compartment: serviceable and clean but not specifically detailed for show. As I mentioned I''m pretty sure that exhaust system is original and it is still usable and sounds great. The 3-speed transmission clicks through the gears unobtrusively and everything is quiet and smooth. Floors are clean with no signs of tinworm or rust again a credit to the warm western climate in which it was stored. I''m also going to go out on a limb and suggest that the shock absorbers are original too but I bet the brakes have been serviced-they work exceptionally well. Tires are recent 235/75/15 whitewall radials on the original 15-inch steel wheels with cool-looking turbine-style hubcaps which I like a lot more than the plain wheelcovers on our black 4-door Connie. The leather interior is a real treat and white was probably a smart choice out west where a sun-heated black interior would easily defeat the air conditioner in a fair fight. I believe the seats have been restored with new seat covers and the headliner has been replaced but everything else is in excellent original condition. Door panels are decent although the driver''s side is showing some signs of age (but after 41 years who wouldn''t?). The dashboard is excellent and all the gauges and equipment are fully functional. The A/C is ice cold the power antenna goes up and down and this car even has power vent windows. An FM converter has been added under the dash augmenting the factory AM radio. If this were my car I probably wouldn''t change a thing-it''s perfect for driving and enjoying as-is. The icing on this turquoise cake is the original window sticker which lists cool options like a high torque axle individually adjustable seats tilt steering wheel and power door locks. We also have the original build sheet which is an incredibly rare find on a car like this. If previous sales are evidence I think we are seeing the emergence of a new trend. As muscle car values escalate collectors are looking around at other vehicles from their past. Many of us have had experience cars like these and if you can''t afford a $50000 Road Runner or Chevelle perhaps you can afford a $25000 luxury car just like the one your father or maybe a wealthy neighbor owned. This is a great example of a car that even Hemmings Classic Car magazine acknowledges is a guaranteed future collectable. Low mileage loaded with almost every available option and in a dazzling color combination you probably can''t go wrong here. Load up the family hit the road and be the center of attention anywhere you go. As GK says I don''t know why I wasted so many years in Jaguars and Range Rovers-I LOVE DRIVING THIS CAR!
