South Shore Pontiac of Valley Stream, NY, ordered this beauty, and you can tell by looking it over it was a big hit at home on
In addition to the original body tag, we have the PHS build sheet. That plus the numbers stamped into the original engine and transmission and the VIN stating this is a GTO you've got the car's authenticity down solid! We have a pile of receipts from the restoration and both body and chassis factory service manuals (originals.) Paperwork is always good to have!
Check out the undercarriage pics—this is a clean car under there! There's a new dual exhaust system featuring Cherry Bomb Vortex mufflers for a deep, mellow tone. The entire brake system from soft parts to the brake drums is all new, as is the front suspension and steering system. Both ends of the car have all of the proper detail stamps, tags and markings—it's a shame so many details are so hard to see!
Open the well aligned door and take a look inside. You'll find fresh upholstery from the seats to the door panels to the carpet to the headliner. The expertly restored gauges are clear and bright, dash panels and pads are in excellent shape and chrome parts are bright and shiny. The AM radio was put out to pasture in favor of a working original AM/FM unit, a new wood grain wheel feels good in your hands and looks amazing and compliments the view of the power bulge hood out the front window. This is a cool cabin in a cool car!
Open the hood and find the well detailed YS code engine topped by the correct finned air cleaner and a 500cfm Carter AFB carburetor. The motor's the correct metallic blue color, the accessories are as original, markings and tags are in their proper places and a reproduction Delco R59 battery is in the corner connected via correct battery cables with spring clamps. Tower hose clamps hold reproduction hoses firm. Chrome valve covers and the air breather are new and brilliant. This is a no issue compartment with a smooth running, fully rebuilt engine!
A three owner car (one of whom held the car for 25 years,) a full restoration with tons of detailing and the mystique of the GTO—it's an investment grade car that will only go up in value and stature!
