1949 Lincoln Cosmopolitian Sports Sedan

Description:

I purchased this 1949 Lincoln from South Dakota in 2004 and imported it to Australia to be used in conjunction with a Salvador Dali art exhibit.

It was bought new in New Jersey and handed down to the owner's son, with 64,000 original miles. The son restored the car in 1995. I purchased this car directly from the son, along with the original paperwork from where is was purchased, a 400 page workshop manual and all receipts for the restoration work. There are also photos of the restoration work, a custom made Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories car cover, etc.

I have garaged this car and started it and driven it on a regular basis.

This car is probably one of the nicest examples of a 1949 long wheelbase (125 inch) sports sedan Lincoln Cosmopolitan in Australia.

This model is referred to as a 9EH. It has five new Remington Cushion Aire L 78-50 four ply white wall tyres.

Great cruiser; great collectible; great museum piece.

1970 Jaguar E-Type (XKE) Series II 4.2 Roadster - Classic Car For Sale (Click Here)

Description:

This top quality example has been owned by one of our regular customers for the past ten years. The car was purchased from the E-Type Centre in 1999 and has covered around 9,000 miles since. Some of this mileage includes touring of the South of England and general weekend use.

Originally the E-Type was distributed by British Leyland New York in Silver with red leather upholstery. The car was dispatched on the 2nd April 1970 and returned to the UK in 1999. On arrival back in the UK, the car was converted to RHD and restored in a sense that the US side marker lamps were removed and the car re-sprayed in metallic silver. Three SU Carburettors and a UK spec distributor were fitted and the low geared American final drive was exchanged for a 288:1 ratio differential giving 25mph/1000rpm in top gear making the car ideal for motorway driving and long distance cruising. The interior appears entirely unrestored and is really in lovely order. The seats are well patinated but serviceable and carpets are very good. The E-Type comes with hard top and a new fabric hood that was fitted in 2005.

A trace from Jaguar Heritage confirms that the colour of the car is correct as are the engine, chassis, gearbox and body numbers.

The car has a beautiful appearance with lovely straight panels, a superb paint finish after ten years and bright chrome. The interior is very honest and the car is fantastic to drive. This would make a fabulous long distance tourer as the car is just a pure pleasure to use and enjoy.

1966 Ford Mustang V8 Coupe - Classic Car For Sale (Click Here)

Description:

This very smart 289ci Ford Mustang Coupe has recently arrived from the States and has undergone a full mechanical check over and MOT.

Before leaving the U.S this red Mustang was stripped down to metal and restored. The wings and general bodywork appear to be in excellent order with bright paintwork and a recently fitted new vinyl roof. The engine bay has been nicely painted and the engine itself is very clean.

The 289ci V8 engine has a Holley carb, Eddlebrock aftermarket manifolds, new valve covers, front discs, new exhaust system and new rear shockers. Performance is very good with a strong and responsive engine. The drive train is very good and there are no wines from the rear axle. Power steering works without fault and brakes are keen. A new fuel tank and tyres all round have also been fitted recently. The upholstery is very smart with a new dash pad, clean carpets and excellent seats and headlining.

Overall, great value and on the road, registered and with new MOT.

1960 Jaguar XK150 3.8 FHC - Classic Car For Sale (Click Here)

Description:

DXS 880 was one of the last XK's produced. This scarce 3.8 manual o/d XK was first registered on the 24th December 1960 in Paisley, Glasgow and only records two former keepers on the V5 from new. The original 'buff' logbook has stayed with the car stating the first long term owner was Director of a Brasswork Company in Paisley itself. The mileage of 62,000 is believed genuine but cannot be guaranteed. We can see the suede green interior shows many signs of originality and the front seats have been recently re-upholstered and now give the interior a stunning look.

The last Irish owner of over 20 years had a bare chassis restoration carried out in the 1990's and a photo record of some of the work is present within a comprehensive history file. Several tax discs accompany the car dating back to 1962. An MOT certificate from 1969 is present along with a Northern Ireland MOT's dating from 1996 onwards.

This XK has excellent straight rust free panels finished with a high quality standard of paint in the cars original colour of Sherwood Green. The car has beautiful chrome all round and nice powder coated wire wheels. The engine compartment is very clean and the boot area immaculate.

On the road our XK150 is outstanding with a fabulous engine holding excellent oil pressure. This is a tight driving car with a nice gearbox and superb handling and performance.

A great find as XK's with this detail and background are not easy to come across.

1948 Austin 16 BS1 Saloon - Collector Car For Sale (Click Here)

Description:

This delightful Austin 16 was previously sold by us in January 2000. The car has spent the last nine years overseas and in this time a small fortune has been spent on improvements. The car is presented in lovely condition with a bright, shiny deep paint finish. Some chrome work has been replaced and improved over the years and now looks superb all round. The upholstery has been completely re-trimmed and is in exceptional condition.

It is also pleasing that the Austin 16 is as nice to drive as looks would suggest. The mechanical condition and general performance is excellent and on the road feels very solid and well maintained. The ride is comfortable and driving the car is enjoyable and no effort.

Two folders of history accompany the Austin. One file holds some earlier information and is an interesting read. The oldest MOT dates back to 1968 when the car was in London with 51,030 miles recorded. The second file contains invoices for work carried out by the previous owner.

The mileage recorded now is 65,550 and although we cannot guarantee this is genuine, we do have evidence that the car has covered around 14,000 miles since 1968. When we sold the Austin in 2000, the mileage was 57,270 so we can see the car has had light use in more recent years.

On arriving back in the UK from Gibraltar, we sold the car to a regular customer in South Yorkshire. The car has covered over 1000 miles over the summer and has been a regular attendant at many shows.

1969 Jaguar E-Type (XKE) - Classic Car For Sale (Click Here)

Description:

This original UK RHD E-Type has just arrived with us and is now under evaluation. Since 2008, this first class driving car has had in the region of £15,000 spent with a UK Jaguar Specialist. The E-Type is an absolute delight to drive with a perfect road holding, excellent brakes and a superb sounding and performing engine. AMX 90H has covered around 2000 miles in the last two years and has benefited tremendously from all the recent work. This E-Type makes a fabulous long distance tourer and is a real pleasure to drive.

The main areas of improvement over the past two years are the rear axle assembly and suspension, front suspension and steering, braking system, exhaust system and electrical and ancillaries work. Over 30 hours of work went into the rear axle and suspension alone. This obviously included the removal and re-fit of the axle assembly, new drive shaft universal joints, new diff output shaft seals, new pinion oil seal, renewed wheels bearings, new shock absorbers, removal of propshaft and replaced universal joints, renewing wishbone inner and outer fulcrum bearings and fitting splined hubs for wire wheel conversion. On the front suspension and steering, top wishbone bushes at both sides were replaced, bottom ball joints renewed, new steering rack fitted, Koni shock absorbers fitted, front splined hubs fitted and various adjustments such as tracking and camber made.

Further to new rear discs and pads in 2005, the E-Type benefited from renewed front and rear brake hoses, new brake pipes, renewed vacuum tank and re-conditioned rear callipers. The old exhaust system and manifold was removed and replaced with a stainless steel system. The water pump was reconditioned, cam cover gaskets replaced, renewed sump oil transfer hose, new engine mountings, gearbox rear mountings and stabiliser mounting. Electrical and further ancillary work included a new heater fan motor, reconditioned wiper motor, new inertia reel seat belts and the repair of the heated rear screen. All invoices for parts and labour are with the vehicles history file.

With this recent expenditure, a lovely original upholstery suggesting the recorded mileage of 85000 is correct, this fabulous looking and driving E-Type riding on chrome wire wheels is a great buy.
